THE PROBLEM
A folded flag deserves better than a closet shelf
Most memorial and retirement flags end up back in their triangular case, tucked into a drawer or the top of a closet — not because anyone stopped caring, but because there was never a proper place to put them.
A flag folded at a funeral, a retirement ceremony, or a homecoming carries weight that's easy to lose sight of once it's packed away. Certificates and ribbons that came with it often end up in a separate folder or envelope, disconnected from the flag itself, and over time the whole story gets scattered across different drawers in the house.
Off-the-shelf frames aren't built for a folded triangle this size, and custom framing means measuring, waiting, and paying a framer to do something a purpose-built case can do out of the box. A shadow box made specifically for a folded flag solves the sizing problem and gives the certificate and medals a place to sit right alongside it.
A flag that meant something should be somewhere you can actually see it.
WHAT'S INCLUDED
Everything needed to build the display
One case, ready to assemble by hand — no separate frame, mat board, or hardware to track down.
Shadow Box Case
Solid pine wood frame with a clear glass front, sized to hold a folded 5' × 9.5' flag.
Fabric-Covered Backer Board
A cloth-wrapped backing panel that gives the flag a clean, finished backdrop and a surface to pin medals or patches to.
Integrated Certificate Holder
A built-in slot for a folded or flat certificate, positioned alongside the flag inside the same case.
Wall Anchor
For mounting into drywall when a wall stud isn't available at the hanging point.
Mounting Screw
Paired with the pre-installed sawtooth hanger on the back of the frame.
SETTING IT UP
Arranging the display, start to finish
No tools required to arrange the inside — just a flat surface and a few minutes.

Open the Rear Panel
Rotate the metal clips on the back of the case to release the removable panel and access the inside.
Arrange the Flag and Keepsakes
Lay the folded flag against the fabric backer, then position the certificate in its holder and place medals, patches, or ribbons where you'd like them.
Close and Lock the Back
Refit the rear panel and turn the rotating clips back into place to hold everything securely behind the glass.
Choose Wall or Tabletop
Use the pre-installed sawtooth hanger to mount it on a wall, or set it on a stable, level shelf or console table.
Check It Sits Level
Once mounted or placed, confirm the case is level and the flag isn't pressing unevenly against the glass.
Keep the case out of direct sunlight and away from damp rooms like bathrooms or basements. UV exposure and humidity are the two biggest threats to both the wood finish and the flag fabric over time.
BUILT WITH PURPOSE
Details built around protecting what's inside
Every part of this case is there to solve a specific problem. The rear panel is fully removable rather than glued shut, because arranging a folded flag, a certificate, and several small medals in one pass rarely works — you need to be able to open it back up and adjust. The rotating metal clips hold that panel firmly once you're done, so nothing shifts loose behind the glass during a move or a wall bump.
The certificate holder is built into the case itself instead of requiring a second frame, keeping the flag and the paperwork that came with it in one place. And the fabric-covered backer isn't just decorative — it gives pins and small mounting hardware something to hold onto without damaging the wood behind it.

It's sized for a flag folded into the standard 5' × 9.5' military tri-fold. It is not designed for a flat, unfolded flag. Please note: the flag itself is not included — this case is designed to display a flag you already have.
Use the pre-installed sawtooth hanger with the included wall anchor and screw for wall mounting, or set it upright on a stable, level shelf or tabletop — no hanging required either way.
The shadow box case with glass front and fabric backer, the integrated certificate holder, one wall anchor, and one mounting screw.
Wipe the wood frame and glass with a soft, dry cloth. Keep it out of direct sunlight and humid rooms to protect both the finish and the flag inside.
Give their service a place of honor
A folded flag says a lot on its own. Displayed properly, it says even more.
